President’s Pen – February 2008 – Dallas ASTD 2008 Balanced Scorecard Goals

“If you want to take your mission in life to the next level, look inside.  Abolish your fears and raise your commitment level to the point of no return, and I guarantee you that the champion within will propel you toward victory.” ~Olympian Bruce Jenner

I am pleased to share our Dallas ASTD goals, which we consider challenging but achievable. The Leadership Team has chosen to continue the strategy implemented last year by defining our Chapter goals in a “balanced scorecard” format.  This strategy allows us to continue building on some of the goals from 2007.

From a SWOT* analysis conducted at our December leadership retreat, the team brainstormed goals within four categories: Customer, Learning and Growth, Financial and Processes. The focus goal for 2008 is to grow our membership by at least 10%. You will see networking and membership drive events during the coming months to help us reach this goal.

Our goals reflect our ongoing mission:  By offering best practices, networking and skill development, we become the Dallas Metroplex’s best resource for workplace learning and performance professionals.
