Learning Summit: What a day!

by Jay Maxwell, President

What a great day at the Southwest Learning Summit & Exposition!

On Thursday, August 17, Dallas ASTD members and others in the DFW community gathered at the beautiful Addison Conference Centre to learn about ideas that can increase their effectiveness, discuss ways to leverage the expertise of external experts, and hear Tom Whittaker’s inspirational story about focusing passion to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

Those at the summit attended up to four presentations on learning related topics such as employee engagement, coaching, blogging, communication, publicity, and what it takes to be the Best Place to Learn in Dallas.  And, as they do at all Dallas ASTD’s monthly programs, attendees touched base with each other to find out who is doing what in the world of workplace learning.

Every year, the Southwest Learning Summit & Expo is one of the best learning events in Dallas – and it is free for attendees!  Consider getting involved next year as a volunteer, presenter, or exhibitor!
